What kind of a Contraceptive is TODAY? How does it act ?
TODAY is a specially shaped, soft pessary which is inserted deep in the vagina 5-10 minutes before intercourse. TODAY does not interfere in the conjugal pleasure and the couple derive full satisfaction as there is not artificial cover.
On dissolving the pessary releases an effective spermicidal NONOXYNOL-9 which destroys sperms on contact and thus prevents conception.
Is TODAY approved by the International and Indian Health Authorities ?
TODAY (Nonoxynol-9) has not only been approved, but placed in category 1 as a 'safe, effective and convenient' spermicidal. It has passed the spermicidal test of the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
The India Council of Medical Research has cleared it for manufacture and marketing in India, on the basis of its contraceptive proporties. TODAY is one of the most effective contraceptives available.
Is TODAY safe and effective ?
Since TODAY vaginal contraceptive pessaries are non-hormonal, there is no possibility of any side effect. Neither is any pain nor bleeding associated with its usage within the body. TODAY dissolves completely and is routinely passed out.
Is TODAY easy to use ?
TODAY may be inserted in the total privacy of your bedroom or your bathroom. All you do is take one pessary between your finger tips and insert it deep into your vagina as far as the finger goes. You will find that TODAY slides easily and effortlessly in.
Allow 5-10 minutes for the contraceptive action to take effect. TODAY remains effective for about an hour after insertion.
To sustain TODAY's efffect it is advisable not to wash immediately but to allow it to pass out routinely with urine. This would ensure TODAY remains inside as long as the sperms remain inside. The exudate running out of the vagina may be wiped away with a tissue paper or a clean cloth.
Keep away from excessive heat.
Due to accidental exposure to sunlight or excessive heat, TODAY may melt. If this happens, simply place TODAY without opening, with rounded end downward, in any cool place away from heat. Or hold the unopened TODAY strip under tap water for 2 minutes. TODAY will soon reform and be ready for use. It will be just as safe and as effective.
Men are advised to wait for few minutes after intercourse to let the penis return to normal size before urinating.
Some men may get a tingling sensation, if they try to urinate when the penis is still bigger than normal. This is no cause for worry. Take it as an indication that the penis is still in an excited state and urination should have been avoided for some time.
